February is National Cat Health Month, which also happens to fall in the same month as Valentine’s Day! Valentine’s Day is about celebrating all forms of love—romantic, platonic, and familial. Of course, our cats are part of our family, so in the spirit of the holiday, we’re sharing three great ways to show your cats you love them.

1. Blink slowly and gaze lovingly

This is a great way to show your cats you appreciate and love them. While some cats may dislike touch or physical kisses, an emotional “eye kiss” is talking to them in their own kitty language! Ever notice your cat slow blinking at you? That is how they say “I love you.” The best way to return the sentiment is to get on your cat’s level, meet their gaze, and slowly blink back. 2. Let your kitty rub against you!

When cats feel safe around their human, they will rub up against your legs, body, and might even nuzzle their head into yours. Cats are natural hunters, and they love the thrill of the stalk and chase. When you play with your cat, it helps them to release the feel-good hormones called endorphins. Just 10 minutes of play a day can keep your cat healthy, happy, and feel closer than ever to you.
